We stayed at the a ranch house. The scenery was majestic, the pool house was beautiful, beds were lush, the decor was clean and the hospitality was top notch. I had no idea what to expect. I just needed a room to stay on our round trip but this place blew me away. I plan on on brining family here for a retreat without going anywhere. I intent to bring our mountain bikes. Thanks for the unexpected lovely surprise!

My stay at The High Frontier was absolutely unforgettable. Nestled in the high desert mountains of Far West Texas, the property offers a level of peace and seclusion that is hard to find anywhere else. The location is perfect for stargazing—the dark skies are incredibly clear, making you feel like you can reach up and touch the Milky Way. We also caught the sunrise over the canyons, and it was spectacular. The accommodations were spotless, contemporary, and had that perfect rustic-chic vibe. Whether you're planning to visit McDonald Observatory or just want to disconnect from the world on a 320-acre promontory, this is the place. We didn't want to leave!

I had a great stay at The High Frontier. The scenery is beautiful, the trails are excellent, and the property is very well maintained. I stayed in Studio 3, which was comfortable and included a fireplace with unlimited firewood. The pricing was very reasonable for the experience. Matt, the general manager, was extremely helpful and provided great recommendations for local attractions, things to do, and places to eat. I stayed for 10 days and would absolutely book again. Highly recommend this property.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Adobe House at High Frontier in Fort Davis TX. It was the perfect setup for traveling with kids—plenty of space for everyone to spread out, relax, and not feel on top of each other. The layout made it easy to manage naps, playtime, and downtime, which made a huge difference for us as a family. The mountain views were absolutely stunning and one of the highlights of the trip. Waking up and stepping outside to that peaceful scenery was something special. We also really appreciated how private and quiet the property felt. The secluded setting gave us a chance to truly unwind, disconnect, and enjoy nature without distractions. We especially enjoyed the pool after a long day of sightseeing and those hot but beautiful hikes around Alpine, Big Bend, Fort Davis State Park, Prude Ranch, and the Chihuahuan Desert mountains. Spent my 74th birthday at High Frontier! Booked Studio #3 and hosted a dinner party for ten on the back porch which faced west and offered the most incredible views. So much fun. Thank you Maggie and Matt for all your help.
